Flavio Cobolli is enjoying an excellent week on the hard courts of the Delray Beach Open (ATP 250), where he has reached the semifinals — his best result of the season so far.

The Italian is electric on court, and he’s also gone viral for what he’s now “etched” onto his body. Part of his recent surge may stem from the energy he draws from his alter ego — Marvel’s Hulk.

He says the inspiration came from the iconic shirt-ripping celebration after winning the Davis Cup with Italy, a moment that travelled the world and stuck in the memory of tennis fans. The transformation now feels complete, and it wouldn’t be surprising if a new nickname soon started following him around the Tour.

For the record, the world No. 20 will return to Umag this summer, where he is set to appear for the fifth time as one of the leading names in the draw.
