Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag is the only Croatian ATP tournament and one of only about fifteen tournaments worldwide that has been part of the ATP Tour calendar since its inception in 1990. It takes place in July, during the peak of the tourist season and in one of the top destinations, at a stadium located in a stunning spot – right on the seafront.

Over the 35 years the tournament has been held in Umag, many of the greatest tennis stars, both domestic and international, have competed there. Among them are nine players who have held the number one spot in the ATP singles rankings: Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Gustavo Kuerten, Carlos Moyá, Marcelo Ríos, and Thomas Muster. Of course, the list of stars doesn’t end there, as numerous Grand Slam champions have also played in Umag, including Goran Ivanišević, Marin Čilić, Stan Wawrinka, and Dominic Thiem.

Naturally, the tournament is not known just for its tennis, but also for its wide range of accompanying events – entertainment, concerts, gourmet programs… All of this has made it one of the biggest sporting and tourist events in Croatia for many years.
