Nikolay Davydenko won a match against Juan Carlos Ferrer with his excellent play (6:3, 6:0). After half an hour Ferrero started to lose his strength to keep up Davydenko's pace, and later on, former number one and Roland Garros winner, lost second set 6:0.
Croatian president Stipe Mesic handed Daviydenko the trophy. "It's a special feeling to meet Croatian president, Russian president usually doesn't come to tennis tournaments! This is a great tournament and I will definitely come again." said Davydenko.
