"I am overjoyed to have won in Umag where I came for the first time" - said Verdasco who defeated Russian Igor Andreev 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4) in the final match of 19th edition of the Umag ATP. With this title he earned 175 ATP points and 54.250 euros.
At the end of the match, Spaniard threw himself onto the clay and released all of pent-up feelings. This is his second career title(Valencia 2004 was his first).

The longest final in the history of this Tournament lasted 170 minutes. President of Croatia Stjepan Mesic awarded the prize to the winner.  Verdasco promissed to come back for years to come to play in Umag.

We must conclude that Umag and Spaniards like each other very much it seems.
