Last summer on 25th Croatia Open Umag Tennis Channel team was led by producer Evan deRouin and his associate John Zinni, who pointed out that Istria surpassed all their expectations.

'We discovered a region where the valley of truffles meets with the crystal clear Adriatic Sea on picturesque rocky shores. It's the place where neighbourly cultures and cuisines merged and thus formed even richer Croatian heritage and history. And that history now includes a quarter of century of top world tennis quality. Istria is indeed a jewel hidden deep in the chest of South-east Europe' Zinni wrote in the Daily News, official newspapers of Umag tournament.
