The world has once again been alerted to the fact that another great tennis player is emerging from Croatia! Borna Ćorić has hit the headlines of the world's biggest sports media following his victory over world No. 3, Scot Andy Murray, 6-1, 6-3 in the quarterfinals of the Dubai Tennis Championships.

The Croat's victory over double Grand Slam winner and 2012 Olympic gold medalist is in itself a sensation at the All England Club but the way Croatia's Davis Cup team member did it is even more special. He never offered Murray a break-point opportunity and lost only five points on his serve in the entire match, thus shocking even the most prominent tennis commentators.

In anticipation of his semifinal match against the great Roger Federer, we look forward to Borna's future matches at Croatia Open and are glad to recall his results in Umag. We are pleased to say that the country's oldest ATP tournament will always hold a special place in the young champion's biography.

Back in 2013 in Umag, Borna played in the main draw of an ATP tournament for the very first time. Playing at the Grand Stand, the then sixteen-year old led 7-6, 3-0 and 15-40 against Horacio Zeballos but then lost his strength and the match. A year later he won his first ATP points in Istria. At the time, he first beat the French Edouardo Roger-Vasselina and then exerted revenge on Zeballos. In an exhausting quarterfinals against Fabio Fognini, Borna lost the match but won the hearts of many fans with his fighting spirit.

Both those times Borna was given a wildcard to play in Umag. This year, however, he will not be needing it. The chemistry between Umag and Borna is obvious. Wouldn't his third stay at Stella Maris be ideal for his - first title? If he plays like in Dubai...
