In the final, the Slovenian doubles combination beat Matej Nemec and Matjaž Vodušek, and their trophy was presented to them by Croatia’s only Wimbledon champion and ambassador of the Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag, Goran Ivanišević.
HEP organizes the tournament for their customers in Croatia and Slovenia, and even though this was just its second edition, the event drew twice as many players as last year. A total of 24 of them played in the doubles competition and, thanks to HEP, none of them went home emptyhanded.
„We have been honored to have had the opportunity to play on these courts, where many Croatian tennis players have started their careers. Last year, our special guest was Ivan Dodig, and this year it was Goran Ivanišević, who presented the players with their awards. After the tournament, we will all go to the exhibition match and cheer him on“, said Nada Podnar, head of marketing at HEP Opskrba, adding that, as a national company, HEP sponsored national associations in handball, basketball and water polo, but also participated in a number of smaller events, when it was necessary to either support or initiate a sports activity, such as the Zdravi, lijepi i hepi youth project.

All the tournament participants wore Hepi red-and-white checkered fan T-shirts as, if you ask HEP, our football team, the “fiery ones”, are definitely World Cup winners.
