To win my first title in Umag would mean a lot to me personally, and it would be another big step towards the top of the tennis world, stated the Ukrainian tennis player Alexandr Dolgopolov in the eve of the 22nd ATP Studena Croatia Open, that is being held in Umag from 21. until 31. of July.

Dolgopolov competed in Umag last year so he's looking forward to coming back, since he enjoys the unique atmosphere created by ATP Studena Croatia Open. "It's a fun tournament to play, definitely one of my favorite summer events. The location and organization make me relaxed, and that's exactly what I need to enjoy my game and to play the best tennis", said Dolgopolov.

The best Ukrainian tennis player has had a great first half of the year, and hopes that Umag will be an intro for an even better second half. The secret to his success is enjoying the game: "I just play and I love the game, the crowd in the stands as well as the attention. I enjoy playing in big stadiums. That's my life goal, to play with the big boys, win and lose", explained Dolgopolov.

An important factor in Dologopolov's success is his coach Jack Reader from Australia. "We're friends, which is very good. It's not strictly a player-coach relationship. We go out together and it's always pleasant. It's important for the player and the coach to have something in common besides tennis", emphasized Dolgopolov. The 22nd ATP Studena Croatia Open last for whole 11 days this year, from the 21st until the 31st of July. Along with performances of top ranked tennis players, several thousand guests will be able to enjoy entertainment and gourmet manifestations. The official part of the tournament will be opened on July 23rd by the opera diva Montserrat Caballé, with the Croatian singer Tony Cetinski performing alongside her. The integral part of the 22nd ATP Studena Croatia Open is the Istra Gourmet Festival, an unavoidable gastronomic manifestation, which offers all the rich tastes and smells of Istria to the guests in Umag through a series of intertwined events and presentations.
