The invitations for the 22. ATP Studena Croatia Open were given to Antonio Veić, a young Croatian tennis player on the rise, as well as the best Croatian junior players Mate Pavić and Mate Delić. They will be joining an already very strong Croatian team in Umag formed by the best Croatian tennis players Ivan Ljubičić, Marin Čilić and Ivan Dodig.

With the decision to award the invitations to Veić, Pavić and Delić, Umag's tradition of giving young tennis hopefuls a chance to compete continues, said Vanja Božičković, the director of 22. ATP Studena Croatia Open. Ivan Ljubičić and Marin Čilić were among the ones to receive invitations to Umag as juniors. Antonio Veić surprised everyone this year at Roland Garros, where he fought through the qualifiers all the way to the third round where he was stopped by Rafael Nadal, who was the world's best ranked player at the time. Peers with the same first name, 18 year old Mate Pavić and Mate Delić are the best Croatian juniors, and are ranked very high with the world's best juniors. Pavić is the current Wimbledon champion in couples alongside George Morgan from Great Brittain, while in singles he fought through to the quarterfinals of Wimbledon. Delić reached the semifinals at this year's Roland Garros. This is the final junior year for Pavić and Delić, and with their success they have ensured a bright future for Croatian and world tennis.

One of the most important sport and social events in Croatia, 22. Studena Croatia Open is being held from 21. until 31. of July this year. Along with excellent tennis players, several thousand guests are expected in Umag, among whom there are a number of famous names from show business, art, politics and economy. The tournament patron is the president of the Republic of Croatia, Ivo Josipović.

Umag's tournament is a favorite destination for world's tennis players due to its rich entertainment and cultural programme. This year's ATP Studena Croatia Open will be opened with a spectacular concert featuring the famous Spanish opera diva Monserrat Caballe, who will sing at the Stella Maris stadium on Saturday, 23 of July.
