Croatia's highest-ranked tennis player Marin Čilić has confirmed his participation in the anniversary 25th edition of the Vegeta Croatia Open, which will take place from July 17 to 27. Čilić won the tournament in 2012, thus after 22 years becoming yet another Croatian player to triumph at the ATP Umag.

Currently ranked 26th on the ATP tour, Čilić has already won two other tournaments this year and reached one other final this year, thus proving his ambition to join the top ten once again. Over the past few years he has left an indelible mark in Umag: he not only won the tournament back in 2012 but also reached the finals the year before.

"Playing in Umag has always given me great pleasure. At the same time, I also feel a huge responsibility towards my home fans. I am sure the competition will be tough as always, but seeing as I wasn't able to defend my title last year, my motivation this year will be even stronger. With some luck and support from the stands, I believe I can go the distance," Čilić said.

This year's anniversary 25th edition of the Vegeta Croatia Open will once again bring "much more than tennis" to thousands of its guests and visitors. Besides world's top-quality tennis players, the tournament will once again feature the side program entitled ATP Party Nights, which is going to welcome both Croatian and international music stars, while Istria Gourmet Festival will showcase all the best food and beverages that Istria has to offer.
