The anniversary 25th edition of Vegeta Croatia Open will have its grand opening at the ATP Stadium in Umag on July 19, starting at 8 PM. This year such a milestone will be marked by an attractive exhibition match between tennis legends, followed by a concert by the rock band Hladno pivo.

Consequently, starting at 9 PM, the ATP Stadium will welcome some of the best tennis players who have played in Umag over the past quarter of a century. Croatia's tennis legend Goran Ivanišević will return to the ATP Stadium for the first time since the tournament back in 1990, when he lost in the finals to Goran Prpić, the tournament's first ever winner. Thomas Muster's return will remind the audience of some long gone but glorious times: the triple Umag winner from back in the tournament's early years, the Austrian "king of the shell" has left an indelible mark in the history of the Umag-based tournament. Nowadays, Henri Leconte, former Davis Cup winner and Roland Garros finalist, is a highly regarded tennis commentator for a number of international TV stations. His usual partner on the tennis court is the French-Iranian Mansour Bahrami, who reached the doubles finals at Roland Garros 25 years ago and who will also be the oldest tennis player in Umag's exhibition match.

At the same time, Croatia's and region's favorite punk band has been given the honor of kick starting the 25th Vegeta Croatia Open with a concert immediately after the exhibition match. Each concert by Hladno pivo is a feast of hard-rocking and fast-playing music; there is no doubt the same will happen in Umag and thousands of the town's guests will enjoy the concert.
As usual, admittance is free.
