Within the 25. Vegeta Croatia Open, the hotel Melia Coral hosted a fundraising dinner which raised funds for demining. The main sponsor of the night was the President of Republic of Croatia Ivo Josipović, and it was organized by Vegeta Croatia Open and the Croatian mine action centre "Croatia without mines". The raised funds will be utilized to demine the northern part of Kopački rit which contains bird nests and tourist routes. "I am extremely pleased that the goal of this year's demining action is the national park Kopački rit, since we know that this area is in need of special attention", stated President Josipović.

Fundraisers hosted in Umag in 2012 and 2013 raised funds for the demining of an area near Smiljan in Lika, not far from the birthplace of one of the most famous scientists and inventors of the 20th century, Nikola Tesla. The Director of the Trust Đurđa Adlešić said that this year's plan to demine Kopački Rit is extremely demanding. "Part of the money will come from European funds but most of it will be covered by the state budget. I hope that generous donation will aid the successfulness of this action", added Đurđa Adlešić.

Funds gathered at the first fundraising dinner in 2011 were used to finance the action "Education and informing of agricultural populace about the dangers of mines" in cooperation with the Association of special police from the Homeland war (USPDR) and the Croatian Red Cross. 460 lectures for 6300 members were organized across counties and cities in 10 counties that were at biggest risk. There was a training program for the educators themselves as well as lectures for the Croatian hunting association.
