The sixth international road cycling marathon Istria Granfondo was presented at a press conference held at the Social Arena. Istria Granfondo was presented by Istraturist’s CEO and chairman of the tournament’s Organizing Committee Ronald Korotaj, head of the Tourist Board and chairman of the Northwestern Istria Cluster Milovan Popović, and Laura Šimenc, winner of the 2016 Granfondo Small. The press conference was also attended by David Goffin, tournament’s top seed.
At this year’s Istria Granfondo, which will take place from October 6 until October 8, the competitors can expect to see a number of new offers and events. Apart from the main marathon, which will start and end at Stella Maris and feature two stages, 90-kilometer Istria Granfondo Small and 136-kilometer Istria Granfondo Classic, there will also be a Wine & Bike by the Sea Tour and Istria Granfondo Family & Gourmet Tour, during which the participants will enjoy beautiful cycling routes along the sea and through olive groves and vineyards, as well as a rich gourmet offer of Istrian delicacies.
