Preparations for the 22nd ATP Studena Croatia Open tennis tournament are in full swing, because this year this unique sports and tourist event will last for as long as 11 days. Top world tennis players and thousands of guests will be welcomed by Umag from July 21 to 31, with the richest programme so far. Since the first edition of the ATP tournament in 1990, when the winner was the current captain of the Croatian Davis Cup national team Goran Prpic, the deepest trace in Umag was left by the Spanish Carlos Moya, a five-time winner. Austrian Thomas Muster won the ATP Umag three times, while Swedish Magnus Norman managed to do that twice. Spanish Juan Carlos Ferrero was the winner last year.

ATP Studena Croatia Open will confirm the status of one of the most important social and sports events in Croatia this year not only with the arrival of great names of the domestic and foreign tennis, but also with a series of accompanying entertaining and gastronomic contents. The competition in Umag has had the reputation of one of the most interesting professional men's tournaments in Europe in the ATP World Tour 250 class, which has given the Award of Excellence to ATP Studena Croatia Open several times.

ATP Studena Croatia Open traditionally attracts more than 70,000 guests, to whom Umag becomes an unavoidable summer centre of tennis, beauty, entertainment, social activities and the experience of the taste and smell of Istria during the tournament. The arrival of the world tennis elite to Umag has an extreme importance for the development of tennis in Croatia, but also the tourist offer of Croatia and the promotion of Umag, Istria and Croatia in the world. The tournament of 2010 was broadcasted on TV stations in 37 countries of the Central and South America, Europe and Asia, which took over 130 hours of national and international TV coverage.
