The only Croatian representative in the qualifiers was Admir Kalender, a 17-year-old for whom the match was his first ever experience in an ATP-level tournament. He was defeated by an experienced Brazilian Rogerio Dutra Silva, who is twice his age. After 75 minutes on Umag’s Grandstand Stadium, the result was 6:3, 6:2.

The last qualifying round is scheduled for Monday and the winners of the matches between Kližan and De Schepper, Dutra Silva and Martin, Travaglia and Krstin, and Vatutin and Trungelliti will be the last four players to advance to the main draw of Plava Laguna Croatia Open.
