In the past 20 years, tennis has progressed a lot both in the world and in Croatia. Today tennis is played in practically all countries of the world, and ATP tournaments are held in all continents. Even in such a harsh competition, Umag has distinguished itself as a place to which top tennis players like to come all over again. ATP Studena Croatia Open is more than a tennis tournament. This year we made another step forward in the constant effort to enrich our offer, in which the tennis tournament is the central point. The event programme was enriched and prolonged to 11 days. Thanks to the support of the family of sponsors and local institutions, the City of Umag and the Tourist Organisation, the entertainment part of the offer of the tournament was also strengthened. We are convinced all this will confirm and strengthen the position of Umag as a summer social centre of the Croatian sport, economy, politics and public life.
The great value of ATP Studena Croatia Open is in the fact that ensures the international visibility of Umag, which is important for the tourist promotion of Istria and Croatia. Last year the tournament was watched by 37 countries in the TV coverage, and was followed by a great number of accredited domestic and foreign journalists.
