Casting for hostesses for the upcoming 28th Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag took place in Umag

This weekend, the second casting for the hostesses of the 28th Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag took place at the Goldfish Beach Bar in Umag, following a recently held successful casting in Zagreb. A large number of girls from Istria and Rijeka arrived at the casting in an attempt to join the organizational team of the tournament that will have nearly 150 hostesses this year. The jury’s task at hand was far from easy, seeing as the candidates showed just how much they loved tennis and how well they knew the program of this year’s tournament.

The jury comprised of longtime partners and friends of the tournament, including well-known make-up artist Tanja Lukin, who will be responsible for the girls’ looks this year in Umag, Leo Urbas, lead guitarist for the band Febra that has been entertaining visitors of the Taste Istria Zone for years now, and Milovan Popović, head of Umag’s Tourist Board.

These beautiful girls presented themselves in the best possible way, effectively and skillfully answering the jury’s many questions.

This year, as every year, there was considerable interest in this responsible position; so far, over 500 girls from around the country have sent in their applications.

At the tournament, hostesses hold responsible positions across ten different services: they take care of the guests, journalists, players and spectators; and they manage ATP zones and the operational part of the tournament’s organization.

This year, they will be performing their duties in an even more beautiful apparel, sporting new uniforms designed by the fashion designer Matija Vuica.
