“As organizers, we are extremely satisfied, because we managed to achieve the goals we set before us in this specific year. We succeeded in organizing the a high profile event while respecting all epidemiological measures and providing a green zone for all visitors. We believe that the tournament, despite the restrictions, did not significantly deviate from its traditional image and that the entertainment was on the tennis courts, but also off of them. I thank all the partners of the tournament and I believe that together we will start preparing the 32nd edition,” said Dragan Pujas, President of the Board of Directors of Plava Laguna.

In terms of sports, the tennis we saw in the main tournament was great, and we also got the youngest winner of the Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag in history - Carlos Alcaraz. With this result, Alcaraz became the seventh Spaniard with the title in Umag, and at the same time he repeated the result achieved 11 years ago by his coach Juan Carlos Ferrero, who also won the title at the Croatia Open Umag.

“The tennis we could see in Umag was at a very high level and, just as we announced, it brought us the triumph of a new star in the tennis sky. Carlos Alcaraz reached his first ATP title in Umag and we believe that this is just the beginning of his journey, both in our tournament and on the ATP Tour when it comes to winning the title,”said Tomislav Poljak, tournament director.

The Umag tournament and Carlos Alcaraz were reported on by the most famous international sports media such as the Italian Gazzeta dello Sport, the German Sport1 and the French L'Equipe, and the prestigious Spanish AS paid special attention to the new national tennis star and his first ATP trophy.

We are pleased that through this tournament we have entered important markets on as many as five continents in more than 120 countries and contributed to the positive promotion of our destination,” said Arlen Brozić, Director of the Executive Board of Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag.
