“Water polo is a great sport but requires players to be extremely fit and have excellent swimming skills. We are the only amateur water polo club in Umag and I hope we have put on quite a show that could perhaps encourage others to start playing it,” said Arsen Brečević, VK Adriatic player. The club was founded three years ago by a group of water polo enthusiasts who have since been training together and competing in tournaments.
Yesterday, Umag Bay was the scene of a thrilling water polo match between two teams comprising players from the same water polo club, VK Adriatic. The players wanted to showcase one of the most popular water sports on the Croatian coastline to the visitors of the Plava Laguna Croatia Umag. Even though both teams hail from the same club, their players certainly did not hold back, and after 40-odd minutes, the team with the blue caps beat the team with the white caps 10:6.
