A member of the British Royal Family, Lord Nicholas Windsor, will be staying in Umag during the 26. Konzum Croatia Open as an honorary guest of the longest Croatian ATP tournament.

Lord Nicholas accepted the invitation from the tournament director Lawrence Frankopan, and with his arrival he will connect the tournament in Umag with the most famous Grand Slam tournament, Wimbledon, which is patroned by the Royal Family.

As the youngest son of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, Lord Nicholas Windsor is a member of the immediate Royal Family, since his father is a cousin to queen Elisabeth II.

The Duke of Kent is the president of the Wimbledon tennis club and his is widely known to the audience since he delivers the trophy to the Wimbledon champion each year.

In 2001 Lord Nicholas Windsor has become the first male member of the British Royal Family who switched to the Roman Catholic religion after more than 300 years, which is why he had to relinquish his royal title.

He patrons a series of humanitarian organizations and is a member of the Pontifical Academy for Life.
