An excellent players' list, two spectacular exhibition matches, world famous DJs, top stars from the regional music scene, and an ambitious gourmet program - these are all reasons to visit this year's 27th Konzum Croatia Open Umag. The tournament's program is brimming with various attractive and diverse events that will, in the period between July 15 and 24, turn Umag into a summer entertainment destination.

The first name of the tournament is also the darling of Umag's spectators, Fabio Fognini. The Italian, who will be playing tennis in Umag for the ninth consecutive year, is still after his first title in Istria but also his first ATP Tour final of the season. His matches are always exciting, and his tennis hypnotizing. Last year he was only beaten after a tight quarterfinal match and in 2016 he will try and move a step further than in 2013, when he reached the final but was beaten by Tommy Robredo. The Italian fans will also be thrilled to seeAndreas Seppi, another frequent and dear guest of Umag, return to the court.

Alongside the Italians, Umag will also welcome a returning duo of players who haven't forgotten some really great moments that happened in our Stadium. This July, Uruguay's Pablo Cuevas, the 2014 winner, will try to continue his streak of wins in Umag. Two years ago, he won the title after starting out in qualifications, and today, he could enter the tournament as the top-seeded player. He should be joined by last year's finalist Joao Sousa. This season Sousa became the first Portuguese ever to enter the ATP top 30. Another returnee this year is the player with the richest tennis resume of all the tennis players competing in Umag this year: Nicolas Almagro is a former top 10 player and has won 13 ATP tournaments. Almagro is also at the helm of this year's Spanish armada: alongside Almagro, Umag will be welcoming the ever improving, young Pablo Carreno Busta and the excellent veteran Guillermo Garcia-Lopez. With the Slovenian British Aljaž Bedene, Czech Jiry Veseli and any others, it's no wonder tournament director Lawrence Frankopan is rather pleased with this year's entry list.

Of the three wild cards for this year's main tournament, the director has already awarded two to Croatian tennis players, Franko Škugor from Šibenik and Nikola Mektić from Zagreb.
