This year’s Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag, to be held from 22 to 31 July, is attracting more and more global tennis stars.

Besides Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz, title defender ranked 6th in the world and undoubtedly the biggest rising star of the global tennis, Jannik Sinner of Italy has also confirmed his participation in the tournament’s 32nd edition. The world No. 12 will return to Umag after his debut in 2019, when he made it to the last sixteen as a 17-year-old.

After Carlos Alcaraz confirmed his participation in this year’s tournament, I’m honored to announce that another big tennis star, Jannik Sinner, will also be joining us. Having recognized the Italian as a great tennis talent, three years ago we invited him to the main tournament and now we will welcome him again as a player with a string of impressive results behind him. Sinner finished the year 2021 as the youngest top ten player since Del Potro in 2008. He played in the final of the ATP Masters 1000 in Miami and won five ATP titles and the Next Gen ATP Finals. Jannik is one of the world’s most talented tennis players, and will greatly contribute to our tournament. I’m sure that the last week of July will offer great tennis performances, worthy of the stars we’re hosting”, said tournament director Tomislav Poljak.

This year, Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag will showcase top-class tennis once again, and tickets for this must-see spectacle at Stella Maris have already been released.

Those for the Goran Ivanišević ATP Court (the center court, in Croatian: ATP stadion Goran Ivanišević) can be purchased online, and those for the Grandstand at the ATP shop. All are day tickets, which means you will be able to follow all matches on the chosen court scheduled for the day.

Umag will once again become a tennis mecca where, in addition to the main tournament, nearly 500 recreational players will compete in the accompanying ones, such as the traditional VIP and HEPi tournaments, Umag Stars Open, and the third edition of the ITF wheelchair tournament. There is also a new edition of Road to Umag, a series of tournaments played all around Croatia before the final in Umag.
