Fabio Fognini and Andrej Martin will be fighting for this year's trophy at the 27th Konzum Croatia Open Umag. This will be the Italian's second Umag final and the Slovak's first ATP tournament final in his entire career.

On Friday, Fognini was less than pleased about his performance: he was too stressed out and strained, and had to play three sets to win his match against Damir Džumhur. Yesterday, however, he was the complete opposite. He defeated Gastao Elias in less than an hour as the Portuguese just couldn't find a solution to Fognini's game. A single break in each of the two sets was enough for an easy 6:3 6:3 win, and another step closer to the trophy.

Today's final against Andrej Martin will be Fognini's second in Umag and he hopes it will end better than the previous one, three years ago, when he lost 6:0 6:3 to Tommy Robredo. "I have yet another final match before me and yet another chance to finally win the tournament in Umag. I'll try to do even better than against Elias and hopefully win the title." However, Andrej Martin, who surprised everyone by securing a slot in the finals, is also hoping for a win. On his road to the finals, the biggest surprises were his wins against Martin Kližan and Joao Sousa.
