In accordance with Umag's ATP Vegeta Croatia Open this year's Istria Gourmet Festival has had its ceremonial opening. Along with excellent sport and entertainment, the before mentioned manifestation will be held with the goal to gather and present the best of what Istria has to offer to lovers of good food and wine. The opening of Istria Gourmet Festival was attended by Dino Kozlevac, president of the Istrian District Assembly, director the Istrian Tourist community and Arlen Brozić, director of the tournament's Executive board. Following the opening, those gathered in the Istria Gourmet Restaurant zone could enjoy the delicacies prepared by Pino Kuhar, owner and chef of the restaurant Puli Pineta, close to Žminj. Along with specialties from central Istria, chosen wines by Marin Markežić Kabola have been served to perfectly complement the food. Every day the guests of Istria Gourmet Festival will have the opportunity to enjoy excellent jazz music and Ante Gelo band made up of top notch local musicians  



There will be four parts of Istria Gourmet Festival during the ten days of the manifestation: Naša kužina, Istria Gourmet Restaurant, wine tastings Hidden charms of malvazija and teran and a rich wine list by Istrian wine makers presented by Vinistra

Istria Gourmet Restaurant is a program made up of theme dinners and tastings with the basic intent of presenting Istria. Basic goals of the manifestation include presenting Istrian specialties and restaurant offers as well as gathering the experiences from international restaurants with Michelin stars. This year Istria Gourmet Restaurant will be attended by the great Italian restaurant La Peca that cultivates fine dining, and has been awarded with 2 Michelin stars along with one of the best Slovenian fish restaurants Pikol.

Along with the listed international restaurants, several Istrian restaurants like Pergola Damir i Ornella, Čok i Batelina, as well as the Agency for rural development of Istria will be presented. Today's hosting at Istria Gourmet Festival will be an interesting bond between two friends and high class experts in their fields - along with specialties by widely famous chef Tomislav Gretić, those present will be able to enjoy eccentric wines chosen by one of the best young Istrian wine makers Bruno Trapan.
