Umag has made another step in the improvement of Istrian tourist
facilities by starting the project called Istria Experience. The
project was presented on Tuesday within the 24th Vegeta
Croatia Open tennis tournament in Umag. It is a platform which
unifies the best Istrian experiences in one place. Guests can also
search and reserve tourist services such as transportation and
housing in Istria. This innovative way of choosing the best
experiences and authentic Istrian content, unlike other platforms,
allows presentation, reservation and purchase of the desired
service all in one place.
"The Istria Experience project raises the value of the
destination with a system that guarantees quality and simplifies
the enjoyment of various destinations, while inciting the
consumption of services and content. Thus we seek to present the
activities outside tourist objects as an important part of the
destination, but we also seek to strengthen the preseason and
postseason with attractive tourist products", said Davor
Brenko, director of Istraturist business development.
Istria Experience already includes around 150 different
experiences in 12 categories. There are field trips, events,
restaurants and taverns, night life, sports etc., and they can all
be searched and activated in a simple way on the web address
www.istriaexperience.com. Each category is supported by chosen
experts, among whom are Vanja Božičković, Ivica Matošević, Anja
Mutić, Damijana Domanovac, Nevena Rendeli, Mario Valentić, Robert
Kišerlovski and Martin Čotar. The experts, along with guests, will
grade the quality of individual experiences. The projects is
supported by US journalist Ashley Colburn, TV host Antonia Mandić
and winemaker Antonella Kozlović, who sees the project as
"extremely important for those who produce and offer services
within the local community. Istria Experience is an innovative tool
which will undoubtedly attract the interest of tourists and
visitors."
Project leader Martina Šolić said that the project is intended for
all guests, but especially those who are already in Istria,
especially in the Umag area. The information and sales network
which includes receptions, special info points and interactive info
displays is intended specifically for them. The guests who are
still planning their stay in Istria have project and partner
companies web pages, social networks and mobile applications at
their disposal. This system can offer new experiences to long term
guests, while at same time it can be used as the first Istrian
contact point for new guests.
Over 100 local partners are involved in the project, including
caterers, winemakers, olive oil producers and many others. Their
numbers grow each day as service providers begin to realize that
this way of simple presentation of their offers among the best
content Istria can provide can also serve as a confirmation of
quality.
