The Celebrity stage hosted an announcement conference for the fourth Istria Granfondo, a cycling event which will be held on the 10th and 11th of October in northwestern Istria with starting points in Umag and Novigrad. This year's Granfondo offers much more than cycling: there will be a bike equipment fair, a children's program, bike balance competition and a fashion show.

The significance of Istria Granfondo for northwestern Istria and the event program was elaborated by the destination project leader of Istra D.M.C. Bernard Musulin, director of the Umag Tourist Board Sanda Bravar and the professional cyclist and the Tour of Croatia race organizer Vladimir Miholjević.

"Northwestern Istria is especially dear to me because it is filled with bike trails and beautiful nature, so it is a true pleasure to come here for training and races. Due to so much biking content and lodging objects, northwestern Istria is a great choice for professionals and amateurs alike who are itching for a ride in the nature", said Vladimir Miholjević.

The main race, Istria Granfondo Classic, will be ridden on a 161 kilometer long trail with a finish line in Umag. For those with less ambition there is Istria Granfondo Small with a trail length of 84 kilometers, while families and amateurs who wish to spend a pleasant day in nature and enjoy Istrian cuisine, can sign up for Istria Granfondo Family&Gourmet Tour on a 25 kilometer long trail.
