Umag-based ATP tournament has been attracting growing attention from the tennis world, both off and on the pitch. The events at this year's Konzum Croatia Open Umag will be broadcasted for viewers around the world, and the images from Umag will be shown in over 130 countries in the period between July 15 and 24.

This year, reporters from some of the world's biggest media outlets will be in Umag as well. CNN, The Sun and Daily Mail, among others, have already confirmed their arrival. As an important element of Croatia's tennis and tourism, the tournament in Umag has for years now been investing in international promotion and tournament ratings, and the arrival of the world's leading news media will only cement Umag's position on the map of the most important ATP tournaments as well as its status of a must-see tourist destination.

"Apart from the greater presence of the international media, the growth of the tournament's value is also reflected in the increase of the number of international brands. Thus, for instance, this year the tournament's sponsorship family was joined by significant international brands, including Emirates, Nike, Peugeot, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Stella Artois, Allianz and American Express", President of the Management Board of Istraturist and Chairman of the tournament's Organizing Committee, Ronald Korotaj, said.

Special interest in the broadcasts of the events in Umag has been shown in the key source markets, namely, Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Germany and the Netherlands. Besides the broadcasts, there is also considerable interest in ticket sales in the neighboring countries: it is expected that this year as well a large number of fans from the neighboring countries, particularly Slovenia and Italy, will be in the stands, seeing as their players traditionally play important roles in Umag. Slovenia and Italy are among Croatia and Istria's most important tourist markets, and each year the tournament in Umag is a must-see destination for thousands of Slovenian and Italian tennis fans.

"Our guests from Slovenia and Italy are already well informed about Umag and Istria; nonetheless, each year we improve our offer, particularly during the ATP tournament. I am confident that over the ten-day tournament thousands of our guests will find events entirely after their own taste, eventually leaving Umag with unforgettable memories", Korotaj concluded.

This year's program is filled with various attractions, from top competitive tennis, spectacular exhibitions and music program featuring world's top DJs and biggest regional names, to a rich gourmet offer.
