CNN, the leading news channel in the world, for the first time this year will be following Croatia's oldest ATP tournament, held between 17 and 26 July. American journalists will be staying at the 26th Konzum Croatia Open Umag for three days and filming reports about the tournament itself, together with interviews with the players participating in the tournament, for example Gael Monfils and Borna Ćorić.

The ATP tournament in Umag has always played a very important role both in Croatian tennis and in tourism, while this year additional effort has been invested to promote the tournament even more abroad and increase the viewing rate. Considering the global reach of CNN, their reports from Umag are bound to significantly contribute to strengthening the position of the tournament within ATP, while also promoting both Umag and Istria as a first-class tourist destination.

According to official data, CNN's programme is available in 212 countries and more than 250 million households worldwide.  In addition to general and specialised news emitted 24 hours a day, once a month CNN International also emits Open Court, a special programme devoted to tennis and presented by the former Australian tennis player Pat Cash, Wimbledon champion of 1987. Pat Cash is a long-time friend of the Croatian tennis legend Goran Ivanišević who will, with an exhibition match with his friends, open this year's 26th Konzum Croatia Open Umag.
