At the fourth Hidden Charms of the Istrian Wines tasting event, Istrian wineries Kabola, Zigante d.o.o and Degrassi showcased their cabernet sauvignons. While the guests did the blind tasting, the resident sommelier Filip Savić talked about the French origin of the cabernet sauvignons, their fruitiness, especially the blackcurrant, which is the most common flavor descriptor in this case, as well as the grassy undertones of mint and fern. According to Savić, this powerful wine should be tasted from the tall bordeaux glasses to release all its characteristics for a better drinking experience.
After tasting the three wines on offer, the guests gave the highest number of points to Degrassi’s cabernet sauvignon, which became the fourth wine to join the race for the ATP Wine of the Year title. Today at 9PM, at the Taste Istria Zone, the next tasting event will be all about red coupages. The guests will be tasting wines from the wineries Capo, Kozlović and Fiore.
