Today, tennis players Roko Horvat and Corentin Moutet proved that it was possible to play tennis at sea. For a good half an hour, both the Croatian and the Frenchman tried to keep their balance on surfboards and had great fun doing it.
Cheered on by the spectators, the two managed to exchange 20 consecutive shots. Still, it wasn’t enough to break last year’s record set by a Slovenian duo. They managed to keep the ball in the air by lobbing it across the net as many as 242 consecutive times.
Today’s event officially opened the SUP(er) Tennis Tournament, which will take place as part of the ongoing Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag. The game is played with a racket and a ball, just like the conventional tennis; however, the players stand on surfboards instead of a stable surface.
This SUP(er) Tennis event is sponsored by the Slovenian insurer Triglav, which prepared some gifts for today’s brave tennis players.
