Before the exhibition, there will be a draw for the main tournament, while singer Tony Cetinski will make sure the first day of the anniversary edition of the tournament ends on a high note by giving a grand opening concert at the Dance Arena. This will also be an introduction of sorts to the unforgettable ten days that the visitors at Stella Maris can look forward to.
Excellent tennis matches starring some of the world’s best tennis players, including the currently ranked 10th on the ATP World Tour Fabio Fognini and Croatia’s top player Borna Ćorić, guarantee loads of thrilling moments on the courts in Umag and an exciting fight for the winning title.
The second exhibition match, which will take place on Wednesday, July 17, will be another attractive duel – between Goran Ivanišević and Patrick Rafter – which will take the spectators back to the legendary 2001 and the Wimbledon final, when Ivanišević’s dream came true and he finally lifted the winning trophy at the All England Club.
Along with tennis matches and exhibitions, visitors of the Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag can expect a fantastic party program; aside from Tony Cetinski, the fans will be entertained by Europe’s most popular Queen Tribute Band and world famous DJs, W&W, Salvatore Ganacci, Gianluca Vacchi and Mike Candys.
At the same time, foodies will be offered a wealth of Istrian delicacies and finest wines at the Istria Gourmet Festival. Among other things, the visitors will be able to enjoy food from two different Michelin-recommended restaurants serving unique culinary experiences, while the Taste Istria Zone will offer tasting events featuring wines made by around thirty select Istrian winemakers.
All this guarantees that from tomorrow until July 21, Umag will become the hub of top-quality tennis, fantastic concerts and irresistible culinary experiences for the thirtieth year now.
