After young Croatian tennis talents Mate Pavić and Borna Ćorić were given wild cards for the 24th Vegeta Croatia Open, taking place in Umag on July 18-28, the third wild card was granted to up-and-coming Czech tennis player Jiři Vesely, currently 91st in ATP rankings.

Jiři Vesely, the peer of our Mate Pavić, made it to ATP top 100 this year by winning two challengers and finishing as runner-up in another two. "Vesely is having an excellent season, having climbed by more than 170 places since late 2012. He is a rising star and I'm confident that in Umag he will prove why he is considered the great hope of Czech tennis," says Vanja Božičković.

In Umag, Pavić, Ćorić and Vesely will face off with impressive competition, led by defending champion Marin Čilić and ATP No. 9 Richard Gasquet. Former champions Alexandr Dolgopolov and Fernando Verdasco are also back, while Pole Jerzy Janowicz, recent semi-finalist in Wimbledon, and Frenchman Gael Monfils, one of the most attractive players in the Tour, will make their debuts.
