In its 25th anniversary edition, Croatia's oldest and most popular ATP tournament will welcome a number of the world's great tennis players. Besides top-quality tennis, the guests of the 25th Vegeta Croatia Open, which will take place from July 17 to 27, will be able to enjoy a rich gastronomy offer as well as performances by Croatia's and region's music stars. Several surprises have been prepared as well.

The list of players who will participate in the anniversary edition of the tournament is headed by the Umag winners over the past three years. Croatia's highest-ranked tennis player Marin Čilić, winner of the 2012 Umag tournament and of the two ATP tournaments this season (Zagreb and Delray Beach) as well as Rotterdam finalist (part of the 500 series of the ATP Tour) will once again return to Umag.

This year, alongside Čilić, Umag will welcome the 2011 winner Alexandr Dolgopolov, defending champion Tommy Robredo and last year's finalist Fabio Fognini. Each year Dolgopolov proves to be one of Umag's biggest stars and earlier this year he came back to the top 20 of the ATP rankings by playing extremely well. Robredo, on the other hand, lost just one set en route to last year's title in Umag, while Fognini will arrive in Umag as currently ranked number 15 in the world, winner of Vina del Mar and finalist of both Buenos Aires and Munich tournaments.

Umag-based tournament also attracts young, but already well-established players. Thus, we can expect to see the Czech Jiří Veselý, who was last year presented by the ATP Star of Tomorrow Award as the youngest player to break into the Top 100 of the world tennis, and Bernard Tomić, Australian of Croatian descent, who was one of the best juniors in the world and this season's Sydney finalist. Many on the Tour believe the potential of these two is huge, enough to reach the top of the world tennis.

"For many players on the ATP World Tour the Umag-based tournament is one of their favorite ones.  Alongside four ATP Umag winners and finalists, the tournament will welcome Italian Andreas Seppi, Austrian Jurgen Merzel, Argentinian Carlos Berlocq and Colombian Santigao Giraldo, among others. Furthermore, two of the tournament invitations will go to our young tennis hopefuls Borna Čorić and Mate Delić. In the period between July 21 and 27 we will see an extremely strong tennis tournament accompanied by a celebratory atmosphere and top-quality tennis exhibitions," tournament director Vanja Božičković stated.
