In partnership with the Croatian Press Photographers
Association, ATP Vegeta Croatia Open is for the first time
organizing a competition for the best photos.

RULES OF THE COMPETITION BY INVITATION
All photographers accredited to follow the 23rd ATP Vegeta
Croatia Open 2012 and official photographers of the tournament can
participate in the competition. Each photographer has to send up to
5 photos per category (10 in total) by July 25, 2012, at the
latest.
The categories are TENNIS and
ACCOMPANYING EVENTS OF THE TOURNAMENT. Photos have
to meet technical terms and criteria mentioned below. All photos
will be coded in order to avoid the possibility of
manipulation.
Submitted photos will be sent to the jury members whose names
will be known by the end of the application deadline. The jury will
make a decision in August 2012, and the award presentation ceremony
will be held in September 2012.
The awards will be allocated to authors of the best three photos
in each category. The announcement of the winners and the award
presentation ceremony will be held in September 2012. Authors of
photos will be informed about it on time.
COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Deadlines:
- 5 photos per category at the
most, 10 in total, are to be sent via this link: www.fotoreporteri.hr/atpumag by July 25, 2012,
at the latest.
- The same or very similar photo
cannot be applied for both categories.
- Authors cede the right to use
the awarded photos to ATP Vegeta Croatia Open, as the organizer of
the competition, for the purpose of promoting the ATP Vegeta
Croatia Open, until and including the last day of August 2013.
Technical
terms:
- The longer side of a photo
must be a minimum of 3,000 pixels in JPEG format of high
quality.
- Within their digital format,
all photos have to have an exact description of the event and
persons that are in photos (field: Description in IPTC).
- In other fields, authors have
to delete data about their name, editorial office, agency or other
data that refer to the authorship of a photo.
- All photos have to be of
documentary character, which implies shooting of non-staged
situations without any subsequent manipulation, adding or deleting
elements of the photo. Editing in graphics programmes without
changing facts in photos is allowed. Final opinion will be given by
the jury members.
Photo
content:
- Competition category TENNIS:
photos have to depict at least one of the mentioned characteristics
of tennis: tennis players at the ATP Vegeta Croatia Open,
competitive spirit, sports friendship and competition.
- Competition category
ACCOMPANYING EVENTS OF THE TOURNAMENT: photos have to be connected
with one of accompanying events that are not related to sports
competition: visitors and tournament staff, entertainment,
concerts, eno-gastronomic programme, other accompanying
events.
Photos have to meet the following criteria of the both
categories:
- They must not show any covert
or overt violent, offending and degrading connotations,
- They must not show any
political, racist, discriminatory or religious symbols,
- They must not show symbols,
signs or faces of minors for which ATP Vegeta Open Croatia does not
have an official permit to use,
- All photos have to be original
work of authors created during the tournament (July 5-15,
2012).
Awarding
process:
- Awards will be allocated to
authors of three photos with the highest total sum of points (per
category).

Weekend for two inside Istraturist housing in Umag, 4 days, 3
nights, 5 star hotel*
- 2. place -
Weekend for two inside Istraturist housing in Umag, 3 days, 2
nights, 4 star hotel*
- 3. place -
Wellness package Spa Escape for two in Fusion Spa, hotel Melia
Coral, Umag (massage for two, Ayurveda or Thai lasting 60 min along
with the entrance to the Spa zone) + dinner in tavern Nono,
Petrovija, Umag**
- The announcement of the
winners and the award presentation ceremony will be held in
September 2012. Authors of photos will be informed about it on
time.
